Tips for Travel

The best time to plan your trip to the Namib Desert region is between April and September. This is the desert’s dry winter month and the weather is not so severe or hot. Plan to bring sunscreen and protective clothing with you. Keep in mind even though it gets extremely hot during the day the temperature plummets at night. Water is scarce in the African desert, so use it sparingly. Visitors will want to stay with their group. Do not feed the animals.

Skeleton Coast

This is a must see when visiting the Namib Desert. Water holes are scattered all across this intriguing desert land. The Skeleton Coast is a treacherous coast that is scattered with the remains of shipwrecks. The most fascinating thing to see here is the seal colony. November and December is the best time to visit and is the breeding season for these amazing animals.
